April 7, 2017 saw the launch of a new service at Vidalia Medical Associates, telemedicine!    Ronnie R. Smith, M.D. is always looking for ways to improve the convince and satisfactions of patients with their doctor.  Realizing that many patients are traveling for some distance for short visits or consultations that could be readily done via telemedicine.  Ronnie R. Smith has partnered with eVisit a leader in the telemedicine technology field to offer this service to our patients. 

 

Patients will need to go to the following link to sign up and sign in for telemedicine services from Dr. Smith.

On signing up for this service they will be required to enter Credit or Debit Card information, they will only be charged if services are rendered.

 

We highly recommend entering a mobile number for communication / text messages.

 

Devices that may be used for this service are desktops with a webcam, laptops with a webcam, Android and Apple Phones / Tablets with the eVisit app.  The eVisit app can be found in the Apple Store and Google Play Store there is no charge for the app.

 

How to sign up with a PC or Laptop. 

Create your eVisit account today and do your next appointment online! Here’s how to get started:

1. Get on your pc or laptop and download the internet browser Google Chrome.

2. Go to web address: https://app.evisit.com/ng/#/login/Vidalia-medical

3. Create an account with your preferred email address and password.

4. Fill out your personal information and answer any required medical questions.

5. Click the blue Start Visit button to request your first virtual visit!

6. Click on the pop-up that appears to download the eVisit app in your app store.

7. When the application is downloaded, open it up and login with the credentials you used to create your account earlier.

8. Once you’re logged in, you’ll be put into the virtual visit while your provider is reviewing your information.

9. When your provider is ready to see you, a join button will appear at the top of your screen. Click on the Join button to start your visit.

10. Enjoy the ease and comfort of your visit from home or on the go!

What is eVisit app?

The eVisit app lets you connect with Dr. Smith through easy-to-use, high-resolution, secure 2-way video conferencing for quick, convenient treatment.

Why do patients use eVisit?

Patients use eVisit to connect with their doctor for quick treatment and requests, such as prescription refills, a follow-up appointment, an answer to a health question, or urgent treatment for minor medical issues.

How can Dr. Smith treat me without a physical exam?

Dr. Smith actually doesn't need to do a physical exam to diagnose and treat many conditions. That’s because knowing your medical history is considered “90% of the evaluation” when combined with the doctor-patient interaction. How you’re feeling can be just as important to Dr. Smith as the results of a physical exam. Plus, being able to see you and view any picture uploads via eVisit gives Dr. Smith the additional visual information needed to make a diagnosis.

How does eVisit work?

It’s easy! If you’re a new user, the first thing you’ll do is create an eVisit account. Then, you’ll answer a few questions about your condition and click the “request eVisit” button at your scheduled appointment time. Dr. Smith will receive your request, and let you know when he will be ready to see you. Once you accept the visit, you’ll be connected to Dr. Smith via 2-way video from your computer or smartphone. Dr. Smith will interact with you, answer your questions, and, if needed, send a prescription to your preferred pharmacy.

Do I need any special equipment to use the eVisit app?

You do need a few basics: a computer or compatible mobile device (tablet or smartphone), a webcam, and a microphone. If your computer or mobile device already has an integrated camera and microphone, you shouldn’t need any extra equipment to get started.

I’m not very tech-savvy. Is eVisit still for me?

Yes! The eVisit app was designed to be very user-friendly.  Imagine Skype, but with a few more bells and whistles to give you and your doctor everything you need to have a successful visit.

Can eVisit be used for medical emergencies?

No, eVisit shouldn’t be used for emergency care. If you have a medical emergency, please dial 911 immediately.

Is my medical information secure?

Yes. The eVisit app is 100% HIPAA compliant, so any personal health information you provide is completely safe and secure.
